Abercrombie & Kent is legendary in the world of luxury travel. Operating since 1962, it offers bespoke experiences in some of the world’s most inspirational destinations. Famous clients have included everybody from Bill Gates, to Oprah Winfrey.
THE CHALLENGE
Abercrombie & Kent have boutiques in the most prestigious locations in the world including Harrods and Monaco. Next on the agenda was an exclusive boutique in Abu Dhabi, a first foray into the Middle Eastern market. Word was tasked with providing support in the launch of the boutique and with building awareness in the region
THE RESULTS
The launch included a media breakfast hosted by Geoffrey Kent, the founder. Word targeted English, Arabic, Chinese and Russian publications in the region. Following this over 25 media and photographers enjoyed a luxury Polo Brunch and one-to-one interviews with Geoffrey Kent. Media coverage was excellent and strong relationships were established for future events. As a result of the successful launch, the story has continued– Word is now contracted to handle Abercrombie & Kent’s PR in the region and continues to leverage A & K in the media. We’re going from strength to strength and in 2015 public perception of A&K meant they won all the travel awards in the UAE (Conde Nast Traveller Readership Awards and the ULTRAS).
